Hotel Pestana Delfim in Alvor.
Nice hotel, my room was on the 16th floor looking out to the sea.
Weather was OK but not 'sitting on the beach' weather.
Tour operator was First Choice on this trip. booked extra legroom and sat near an emergency exit.
Short flight from Gatwick, North Terminal, to Faro on the Algarve.
Second trip to the Algarve. First time was in June 1999, temperature was a lot higher then!  
Plenty of long walks on this break, the beach (above & right) was an interesting place to explore. Plenty of shops & restaurants in nearby Alvor. Local bus from the hotel to Lagos, Portimao & Albufeira is worth checking out.
